Inside the Thermal Lab
Every assessment follows the same documented procedure—from intake inspection through 72 hours of continuous monitoring to the final written verdict. Here is what happens to your hardware inside our Daejeon chamber.
Intake and Baseline
Units arrive at our Example-ro facility and undergo visual inspection for physical damage, missing components, and non-stock modifications. We photograph the unit, record serial numbers, and measure idle power draw before any load is applied.
Probe Placement
Fourteen K-type thermocouples are attached at standardized points: each hash board's center and edge, both VRM banks, PSU exhaust, inlet grille, and ambient reference. Placement follows our internal protocol so results are comparable across assessments.
Chamber Stabilization
The unit is installed in our climate chamber set to 24°C ambient with controlled humidity between 45–55% RH. We allow 30 minutes for thermal equilibrium before starting the sustained load run.
72-Hour Continuous Run
Hash rate, power consumption, fan RPM, and all probe temperatures are logged every 30 seconds. Throttle events—any reduction in clock speed or hash output—are flagged automatically and correlated with temperature spikes.
Analysis and Report
After the run completes, we generate temperature contour maps, plot fan curves against junction temps, and write a deployment recommendation based on whether the unit maintained rated performance without thermal throttling.
